How Do Eyebrows Shape The Face

Eyebrows are often the most under appreciated facial feature yet they can dramatically change your whole look.

They are the main form of facial expression. Done well, a tweak to your eyebrows can give the appearance that you’ve even had a little ‘lift’ work done to your face. A well-groomed set of brows also adds a polished look to any make-up free day.

Achieving perfect brows is the same for everyone - they should fully frame the eyes and complement your bone structure. However, one brow shape does not fit all. Just a slight change in shape can give you a new and different look.

The first place to start is brow mapping. This shows you where your brows should start, where they should arch and where they should end. Why do we do this? It creates a more awake, youthful lift to your eyes and adds definition and balance to the face.

Brow Mapping
Three easy parts..Start, Arch and End.
Where the brow should start: Using a pencil, line it up in a straight line from the side of your nose upwards to the inner corner of your eye. Where the pencil hits the brow bone is where your brow should start.
The arch: Next, in a diagonal line position the pencil from the outside of your nose across the middle of your eye. Here is where your arch will be.
The end: Next create a diagonal line from the outside of your nose to the outer corner of your eye. Where it hits your brow bone is where your brow should end.

There is no need to pluck, wax or tattoo straight away  - you can start getting creative by playing with eyebrow makeup. Here you will see, risk-free, what your shaped brows will look like. With eyebrow makeup, you can completely customise your brows in the most cost-effective way.
It does require a bit of practice, however once you’re done with that, you will be able to give yourself an instant facelift anytime with your brow kit handy.
Filling in bald spots with a pencil or brow mineral wax also creates a nice strong brow. The one we recommend is a kit from Simply Naked Beauty  https://www.simplynakedbeauty.com.au/products/brow-magic-kit

The Golden Rule

The golden rule is “When in doubt, don't pluck it out!"

Moderation is key. It's easier to take hair off than it is to grow it. If you're in need of a growth boost take a good multivitamin and brush castor oil through your brows daily. We swear by castor oil and we swear by this organic one: https://www.simplynakedbeauty.com.au/collections/the-naked-skincare-range/products/organic-castor-oil-for-lashes-brows
Simply Naked Beauty is also vegan and cruelty free.

You should also consider face shape when choosing your brow shape.
Which face shape are you? Long? Round Heart? Oval?

The overarching rule is to go for a brow shape opposite to your face shape. For example, if you've got a long face you should go for a low-lying arch. If you want to add width to your face, go for straight elongated brows. If you have a square face shape, soften the strong jawline and lift the brows with soft brow arches – avoid sharp and angled brows. There is a tonne of info on brow shape for face shape on the interweb. We will also definitely cover this one further in a future post.
For now, enjoy playing with the brow makeup and enjoy those beautiful compliments that you will receive. After getting into the brow thing you will get used to hearing “you look younger.”
